Unfortunately, Raw has a big advantage over JPEG for HDR, so one probably needs to deal with it. Raw file processing is still quite slow and the conversion quality seems okay but doesn’t bowl me over. The list of cameras supported for Raw files has increased to 1020 (from 890). I have no idea what the limit is in HDR Projects 5. At 32 bits per channel for three channels, that would require over 8 GB. Maximum resolution is said to be increased to 714 megapixels (16- and 32-bit file formats only).

That 18 stops is a range of shutter speeds from 1/4000 to 60 seconds 33 stops is ludicrous.
HDR PROJECTS 4 FREE FULL
The prior limit of 55 at least had a reasonable numerical basis: at ⅓ stop intervals that was 18 stops, which combined with 14-bit Raw files gives the full 32-bit range that the program works in. 100 bracketed images at ⅓ stop intervals covers 33 stops. The amount of memory required would be enormous, and I don’t know what improvement you could possibly get. This seems to be a nonsense specification. You can now merge up to 100 bracketed images, up from 55.

You can now reset the user interface appearance, from the Extras menu. The major new feature touted for Franzis HDR Projects 2018 is HDR Styles, but there are many other changes as well. Much of this likely also applies to the non-Pro version. Here I look at what’s different in HDR Projects 2018 Professional.
HDR PROJECTS 4 FREE PROFESSIONAL
I did a fairly comprehensive (long-winded) review of Franzis HDR Projects 5 Professional at. Performance has not been improved, either. The user interface remains overwhelming for newcomers, and the absence of a basic “undo” continues to frustrate. But in the process, it breaks backwards compatibility with older versions even more than is usual for Franzis: the five HDR Styles don’t include any that give the same result produced by prior versions of HDR Projects. TL DR With the 2018 release of Franzis HDR Projects, the arguably most powerful parametric image editor on the planet gains even more power, with a choice of five HDR styles, computed masks for filters, and a number of other goodies.
